But I Flourish | The Day Retreat
"But I flourish."
In a season where the landscape of my life felt far more akin to a desert than a garden, God arrested my attention with this simple yet profound statement that David made in Psalm 52. I knew that if there was a ‘but’, then there had to have been obstacles that made flourishing an unlikely reality. So why was he able to make this statement? And if he could flourish against all odds, then couldn’t I also? Join me for this day retreat and discover the answer to these questions! Together we'll explore the “The Flourishing Psalms”—Psalms 52 and 92—and the three trees that David and the psalmists compared themselves to: the olive tree, the palm tree, and the cedars of Lebanon. Through these trees and the life of King David, we'll lean into what Biblical growth looks like to learn how we can 'flourish' in every season and live a life filled with meaning and purpose. Held at the beautiful Vaughan Park Retreat Centre overlooking Long Bay, the day will include teaching sessions, moments of personal reflection with morning tea, a cooked lunch and beverages provided throughout the day. Bring your Bible, journal and come expectant to hear God speak to you!
